A Summer School in Digital Humanities was launched on 5th of September 2016 in Hissar within the framework of the “Technological ecosystems in the humanities” Program of the Center for excellence “Alma Mater” at Sofia University. It enjoyed the participation of 25 students, post-graduates and researchers from 20 countries although more than 60 candidates applied for the event.

This is the third initiative carried out by the research group of Sofia University which gathers the efforts of representatives of classical studies, history, digital science etc. The main focus of the Summer school were fields such as 3D modelling, photogrammetry, text coding (XML), automatic processing of specialized data-bases, GIS, and various other instruments for geo-spatial marking (Pelagios и Recogito).
