1. Three Dimensional Visualization of Scientific Data Used in Research,  Project leader: Associate professor Dimitar Birov, PhD, Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, Sofia University

The project plans to develop different forms for 3D visualization of information in different scientific fields and to publish the findings in a specialized academic collection. 

 

2. Publishing of an e-review “Advanced Research in e-Humanities, Project leader: Associate professor Dimitar Birov, PhD, Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, Sofia University

The project is focused on the promotion of research and publication activities in the fields of humanities to include areas such as social networks and software development, qualification and retraining of experts, end consumer programming etc.  

Completed projects

  • Regional Training Workshop in XML aimed at experts working in the fields of epigraphy, archeology, philology etc. Project leader: Associate professor Dimitar Birov, PhD, Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, Sofia University

The project succeeded to set up a core team of researchers in processing of information from Bulgaria, Serbia, Macedonia, Poland and Russia, all experts in various scientific fields such as ancient and Middle Ages epigraphic, papyrus and manuscript documents. It contributed to a significant transfer of know-how to Sofia University promoting it into a leading academic institution and a regional center of new technologies and their application in history and archeology. 

  • Digitization as a method for conservation, migration and archive management in the field of documentary and cultural historical heritage: Project leader, Professor Yuri Todorov, PhD, Faculty of History, Sofia University

The project applies leading practices in the field of digitization and envisages enhanced promotion and publication activities and development on new software solution for archive management. 

  • Project and Communication Management System,Project leader: Associate professor Dimitar Birov, PhD, Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, Sofia University

The project made an analysis of the system for communication and project management used by Sofia University and offered design and implementation of a new managerial  platform to cover the needs of academic research, teaching process, administration, HR, and infrastructure. 

  • Virtual Museum Project leader, Associate professor Dimitar Birov, PhD, Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, Sofia University

The project brought about setting up of a 3D museum presenting the Bulgarian cultural historical heritage.
